Jack Bauer Returns! A '24' Prequel Is In The Works

It’s been eight years since the original 24 aired its final episode on FOX. And now the network has announced that the fast-paced counterterrorist drama is set to return as a sequel! Read on for all the details!
As 24 fans know, the original hit series followed Jack Bauer (played by Kiefer Sutherland) as the Director of Field Ops for the Counter-Terrorist Unit as he raced against the clock to save the country from imminent disaster. It ended in 2010.
Four years later in 2014, Kiefer reprised his role in the limited series 24: Live Another Day.
After that, the series returned once again with an all new cast, led by Corey Hawkins, titled 24: Legacy.

But today, showrunner Howard Gordon and co-creators Joel Surnow and Bob Cochran announced that they are developing yet another installment in the beloved drama.
Though details on casting have yet to be disclosed, this prequel will focus on Jack at the beginning of his career at the Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU). Kiefer is not expected to have a role in this new version.
