Funnyman Jack Black explored a darker side in his recent film, Don't Worry, He Won't Get Far On Foot. In the film, he plays a heavy drinker and the role allowed him to get candid about his own experiences with addiction in a new interview with The Herald Sun. Read on for the latest.

“I have experience in the world of addiction", he said before adding, “Alcoholism is in my family so I know personally what that is about and I myself also struggled.'

The Tenacious D frontman recalled, “In my wild, younger years I've definitely gone down some risky roads and I'm very fortunate to still be alive, to be honest with you. I partied pretty hard, and man, I definitely had a very robust, ridiculous, idiotic period in the 80s."

This isn’t the first time Jack has been open about his past addiction. Back in 2015, he told Parade magazine that after his parents’ divorce he developed a coke problem. “I remember just lots of turmoil from that time period. I was having a lot of troubles with cocaine.”

Nowadays however, the actor is living the life of a fulfilled family man. He married wife Tanya Harden back in 2006 and the pair share two sons, Samuel, 12, and Thomas, 10.
