Jada Pinkett Smith Says She ‘Had To Pull A Knife’ Out On A Violent Ex Boyfriend

Jada Pinkett Smith's show Red Table Talk often goes deep into the actress’ dark past. She’s even discussed problems in her marriage with Will Smith. On the latest episode, she talked about another troubled relationship with an ex-boyfriend. Read on for the scary details of why she pulled out a knife.
Jada sat down with her daughter Willow and her mother, Adrienne Banfield-Jones, for another episode of the coveted series. In the latest episode, she turned to her mom and asked, “You remember that one incident I had with that one guy I was dating where I had to pull a knife out on him?”
The Girl’s Trip actress then explained she had been in the car with an ex who was drinking and driving. “He started getting really aggressive in the car. Thank goodness I knew where I was and I knew how to get out of the car and get to the house.”
Jada then said she ran back to the home she stayed in with her ex and remembers, “grabbing a big ol’ knife from the kitchen and hiding in his son’s room. I’ll never forget.”

The mother-of-two then revealed that once her ex arrived back at the home she “came out of his son’s bedroom” and told him, “Don’t come near me.”
The actress pointed out, “He said the quintessential line you hear in movies all the time, ‘You think I would hurt you? I would never do that to you.'” Jada then revealed that Spike Lee offered her a part in the movie Girl 6 which gave her the excuse she needed to leave her ex.
