Jaden Smith has become known for his willingness to take fashion risks. This time he’s channeled that fearlessness into creating and launching a brand new fashion collection that focuses on being eco-friendly and sustainable. Read on for all the info on his brand new project.
The “Icon” rapper collaborated with G-Star Raw to create his Forces of Nature collection.
The collection itself was officially launched at the Hype Fest festival in Brooklyn and it consists of 3 different "colorways" which coincide with different elements of nature. There is Water/Blue, Earth/Ecru, and Eclipse/Black.
In a press release for the line Jaden explained, “G-Star is at the forefront of denim and sustainable denim technology in fashion, which is why I wanted to collaborate with them.”

“It’s thought out from the very beginning of the process, from the denim fabric to the dyes to the waters being reused and recycled, to the washes – all of these different things is what made me decide to be part of G-Star,” the statement continued.
During a recent interview with Essence, the 20-year-old expressed his desire to use fashion as a means of social change. He said, “When I realized the impact that the fashion industry has on the environment, that’s when I really wanted to look for and partner with a brand that had the same vision as me, but had more industry knowledge.”
