Just when Jean-Claude Van Damme’s son Nicholas Van Varenberg was getting his movie career off the ground with this year’s Kickboxer: Retaliation, alongside his dad, the 21-year-old found himself in handcuffs after allegedly holding his roommate at knifepoint.
It all started when police got a call to check on Nicholas because he had allegedly punched the elevator in his building in Tempe, Arizona.
They found a trail of blood leading back to his apartment and, after speaking to him and his roommate, discovered Nicholas had just hurt his hand.
Cops then left the apartment, but 20 minutes later the roommate ran downstairs to tell them that Nicholas had been holding him at knifepoint.
Police went back to Nicholas’s residence, where they found the knife and marijuana.
