RadarOnline.com exclusively revealed that the Columbus County Sheriff Office’s investigation against the couple is closed after Jenelle denied that David shot and killed her dog. News of the incident broke in late April 2019.
The media release obtained by Radar from Columbus County Sheriff’s Office explained that the former MTV star contacted the department to report that the dog bit her daughter. “Evans advised that her husband, David Eason, threw the dog outside. She then advised that after David realized the dog scratched their child, he went outside and shot the dog,” the statement read of the May 1 conversation. “Jenelle stated that she did hear a gunshot but did not witness the incident.”
On May 13th, the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant. The report read that after a search of the property, no weapons were found and there was “no blood evidence or any other physical evidence to validate that an animal had been fatally injured on the property."
On May 14th, investigators met with Jenelle and they claimed her accounts were “inconsistent” with her original story. “Jenelle advised that she was inside with her children at the time of the alleged event. She advised that she never heard or saw anything to indicate that David shot her dog," the report read.

Jenelle decided that she did not want the investigation to continue, Radar exclusively revealed. The report read that she doesn't know if the dog was "shot or killed or not." Jenelle claimed to have filed the animal cruelty report for publicity because she “did not know where her dog was.”
Following the incident, as OK readers may remember, David admitted to killing the dog on social media. “I don't give a damn what animal bites my baby on the face,” he wrote on his Instagram before it was deactivated. “Whether it be your dog or mine, a dog is a dog and I don't put up with that s—t at all. I’m all about protecting my family, it is my life's mission. Some people are worth killing or dying for and my family means that much to me. You can hate me all you want but this isn't the first time the dog bit Ensley aggressively. The only person that can judge weather or not a animal is a danger to MY CHILD is ME.”
Jenelle also confirmed that David shot and killed the dog, which resulted in her firing from Teen Mom 2.
Weeks following the incident, CPS removed the children, Maryssa, Kaiser, and Ensley, from their home. On July 3rd, the case was dismissed and all of the children have returned to their care.
