The couple went to court in an attempt to regain custody but were shut down after only four days of testimony. "The judge told Jenelle that she failed to protect the children while they were in her care," a source told RadarOnline.com.
Shortly after the incident occurred, Jenelle was fired from Teen Mom 2 by MTV.
Jenelle and David raise their daughter Ensley, 2, and his daughter Maryssa, 11, from a previous relationship. The pair also raise Jenelle's son Kaiser, 4, whom she shares with ex Nathan Griffith.
