A source close to the couple tells OK! that a heated public argument on the night of Feb. 5 convinced the pair they need to improve communication in their relationship.

The fuss all began during a romantic date night at the Chateau Marmont in Hollywood, California, after Simpson became upset with Johnson for talking to another woman at the restaurant. "She went crazy," the witness said.

But though she was angry at the time, the source says Simpson eventually presented counseling as a way for the couple to learn how to better resolve their conflicts.
