The singer has been looking a lot healthier as of late. But the his and Van Veen's frosty glow in the photo was the epitome of a photoshop fail.
It is likely that the crazily edited photo is just one big joke by Mayer.

And the singer’s fans added to the hilarity of the incident, sounding off on their thoughts of the crooner’s new look on his IG page.
“Photoshop much??” questioned one fan. And another commented, “John you look like sims characters.”
