Julianne Moore’s 2015 Oscar win didn’t stop her from getting axed! During the March 7 episode of Watch What Happens Live, she claimed she got fired from Can You Ever Forgive Me? Melissa McCarthy scored a Oscar nomination at this year’s ceremony for her role in the film.
It was previously reported that Julianne, 58, walked away from the project. However, when a fan called into WWHL and asked why she left, the actress dropped a surprising bombshell.
“I didn’t leave that movie, I was fired,” Julianne said. “Yeah, yeah, original director Nicole Holofcener fired me. So yeah, that’s the truth.”
“I think she didn’t like what I was doing,” she continued.

"Her idea of where the character was, was different than where my idea of where the character was,” she added. “So she fired me.”
The change in actresses wasn’t the only behind-the-scenes shakeup. Marielle Heller took the reigns as director, and like Melissa, she received an Oscar nomination for her efforts.
