Kailyn Lowry Defends Herself Against Hater Who Says The Teen Mom Girls "Don't Have Anything To Be Proud Of." Read Her Tweets!
Note to self—don’t mess with Kailyn Lowry! Earlier this week, Kailyn shut the haters up by confirming on Instagram that she and Javi Marroquin are not getting a divorce, and now, she’s back at it. Kail took to Twitter yesterday to quiet a mean tweeter who said that the Teen Mom girls aren’t contributing to society and are just using MTV’s money. Whaaa?
After Kailyn tweeted out a photo of her best friend, Peach, wearing one of the t-shirts from her Love & Lowry line, Twitter user @BoyWicked_2 tweeted to her, saying “I just feel MTV hands them money. They haven’t done anything to be proud of.” And Kail wasn’t going to just sit back and let that one slide…

Kail responded to @BoyWicked_2 in a series of tweets explaining exactly what the purpose of Teen Mom is—which isn’t to just get rich! “We are contributing to society by showing girls the struggles so others DON’T do the same thing as we did,” she argued. She added that the show has helped prevent upwards of 20,000 unwanted teen pregnancies!
None of Kail’s co-stars have come to her defense yet—Jenelle Evans is probably too busy tanning on her vacation with Nathan—but we’ll back Kailyn up here. There’s been legitimate research that teen pregnancy rates have declined since 16 & Pregnant started in 2008, so there. And besides, we should be happy that these girls have gotten their lives together, rather than hold it against them that they had kids so young, right?
Maybe the mean Twitter users should read our story about why 2015 is the best year yet for the Teen Mom girls. There’s so many happy relationships, new babies, and professional accomplishments for them coming up this year (including Kail), so can’t we all just be happy for them and get along?! Hmph.
