Kandi Burruss already has quite the impressive resume, being a big time Grammy winner and reality star. Now, she can add Broadway diva to that list as PEOPLE Magazine just confirmed that she will be joining the cast of the legendary musical Chicago beginning in January!
She has already had quite the busy year, with her reality series The Real Housewives of Atlanta and Xscape: Just Kicking It airing back to back this fall. Now she’s taking her singing and acting talents to the Great White Way in the new year.
PEOPLE Magazine confirmed that she will be playing Matron ‘Mama’ Morton from January 15th to March 11th at the Ambassador Theater in New York City.
The musical started on Broadway 40 years ago and was turned into an Oscar-winning movie in 2002. The role of ‘Mama’ in the film was played by Queen Latifah, who earned a Best Supporting Actress nomination for her performance.

Before she became a big reality star, Kandi was well known in the music industry as one of the four members of the hit girl group Xscape.
