One person that was noticeably absent from Meghan Markle's stateside baby shower in New York City in early February 2019 was the one and only Kate Middleton. Scroll through to find out why she didn't attend the celebration!
When it became clear that Kate, 37, was not going to Meghan's New York City baby shower on February 19, the world assumed that the rumors of the two royals not liking each other were true.
While Kate didn't end up making the trip to the states, those assumptions couldn't be further from the truth! The mother-of-three reportedly didn't go to the former actress' shower because she is planning a whole other celebration in the U.K. for Meghan, 37.
“There is still going to be some sort of private baby-centric event for Meghan’s U.K. people, and Kate will host,” an insider told US Weekly. “Her glam people and other relatives will be there. Not sure if it’s a total baby ‘shower,’ but you could probably call it that.”

As OK! readers know, a few of Meghan's good friends, including tennis pro Serena Williams, planned a beautiful baby shower for the Suits alum at The Mark Hotel on the Upper East Side. It was a private affair spent with her closest 15 friends.
Meghan and Prince Harry are reportedly expecting their first child in April 2019.
