Not only did Kate Upton dazzle on the Met Gala red carpet, so did her new engagement ring, from fiancé Justin Verlander!
The blonde bombshell revealed the big news that she is engaged to the Detroit Tigers’ starting pitcher at the NYC gala on May 2.
If the 23-year-old’s giant ring wasn’t a clue enough, the model confirmed to E! News, revealing it was a secret proposal.

“I’m really excited,” she said. “He asked me right before season started so we’ve been keeping it on the down low for quite a while. So I’m excited to finally be able to share it with the world!” And he definitely did a great job choosing the right ring! Mark Keeney, VP of Marketing for Ritani told OK! “Kate has knocked it out the park with the gorgeous white round center stone, which appears to be a whopping 8 carats set in a six prong setting with even more diamonds throughout the setting. I am sure Justin chose a high quality diamond which could easily value this ring close to $1.5 million.”
Upton started dating the 33-year-old baseball star over 3 years ago, and while it took a while for Justin to pop the question, they’re also taking their time wedding planning.
