This situation looks familiar! Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes, who separated last month, left their Chelsea home to take son Joe, 6, and daughter Mia, 9, to school on April 7 in NYC. The parents have been doing a great job of keeping their family together, despite their separation. One thing is different with the family of four today compared with their trip to school yesterday — Mia is holding Sam's hand and Joe is holding onto mom!

The adorable kids seem happy to spend time with both parents. Mia sported a cool pair of shades on the hot, sunny NYC day.
“Kate and Sam are saddened to announce that they separated earlier this year,” their lawyers said in a statement when their split — after seven years of marriage — was announced. “The split is entirely amicable and is by mutual agreement. Both parties are fully committed to the future joint parenting of their children.”
