"Our long national nightmare is over. I'm fairly certain that there are trained snipers with tranquilizer darts in case I go off-message,” Ripa, 45, joked after walking out holding hands with Michael.
Strahan, 44, announced that he was moving to Good Morning America full-time in September, and according to sources, Ripa was not told of the move beforehand and found out with everyone else, causing her to take a break from the show. "I needed a couple of days to gather my thoughts,” she admitted.

"Apologies have been made and the best thing to come out of all of this is that our parent company has assured me that LIVE! is a priority,” she added. "There is a commitment to this show and to the people that work here and most importantly to you the viewers."
Ripa then said she is “thrilled for Michael. This is a tremendous opportunity."
It wasn’t all love for Ripa, though! Michael told Kelly that he’s “so happy” she’s back. "You are the queen of morning television,” he added. “One thing I know about you is that you love the show, you love the fans, you love the staff and I love you."
