Kevin Federline is sending well wishes to his ex-wife Britney Spears. The former dancer praised her decision to check into a wellness center as she continues to cope with her father Jamie Spears’ “life-threatening” health crisis.
“Kevin commends Britney for recognizing that she needs to take a step back and that she is taking reasonable steps to dealing with her situation in a responsible way,” Kevin’s attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan told Entertainment Tonight. “He wishes everyone well.”
The pair split in 2007 after almost three years of marriage. They share two sons: Sean, 13, and Jayden, 12. The children are reportedly staying with Kevin while Britney is being treated.
On Wednesday, April 3, under an Instagram post that featured the quote “Fall in love with taking care of yourself, mind, body and spirit,” Britney left an additional message for her followers. “We all need to take time for a little ‘me time,’" she wrote.

This isn’t the first time the “Lucky” singer took some time away from the spotlight to deal with her dad’s health issues. In January, weeks after Jamie was hospitalized for a ruptured colon, Britney cancelled her Las Vegas Domination show.
“I’ve been looking forward to this show and seeing all of you this year, so doing this breaks my heart,” she wrote at the time. “However, it’s important to always put your family first… and that’s the decision I had to make.”
