Los Angeles Angels Pitcher Tyler Skaggs Found Dead In Texas Hotel Room At Age 27

Los Angeles Angels pitcher Tyler Skaggs has passed away at age 27, the organization announced on Monday, July 1. The baseball star was found unresponsive in his hotel room while on the road with his team in Texas.
"It is with great sorrow that we report Tyler Skaggs passed away earlier today in Texas,' a statement from the Angels said. "Tyler has, and always will be, an important part of the Angels Family. Our thoughts and prayers are with his entire family during this devastating time," they added.
The Southlake Police Department also confirmed the sad news and provided a few details. "This afternoon at 2:18pm, the Southlake Police Department responded to a call of an unconscious male in a room in the Hilton hotel at 1400 Plaza Place. Officers arrived and found the male unresponsive and he was pronounced deceased at the scene. The deceased has been identified as Tyler Skaggs, 27, of the Los Angeles Angels baseball team," their tweet read.
It continued, "At this time, no foul play is suspected. The investigation is ongoing and we will release pertinent information as it is available. We would like to extend our condolences to the Skaggs family and to the Los Angeles Angels organization."

Tyler pitched five innings against the Oakland Athletics this past Saturday, June 29, in Anaheim, California. Tyler's last post on social media was a photo of him and his teammates boarding a plane to Texas for their game against the Rangers on Sunday, June 31.
The game, set to take place on July 1, has been postponed. The Rangers general manager Jon Daniels told reporters during a press conference that they would be open to postponing further games if necessary.
Tyler wed wife Carli Miles Skaggs in late 2018. She posted a photo of him in a cowboy outfit to her Instagram stories on Sunday, June 31, just hours before his untimely death.
Plans for a memorial service have yet to be announced.
