Lady Gaga was dealt with two major blows last week: her broken engagement with Christian Carino and the death of fashion legend and her pal Karl Lagerfeld. Now her friends are reportedly “extremely worried about her” in the aftermath of both and if she will return to drinking to cope.
The Sun reported on Saturday, February 22, that Gaga made a secret dash to LA hotspot Chateau Marmont after being in hiding in Cabo, Mexico with members of her inner circle.
“Everyone is extremely worried about her,” a Sun source revealed after Gaga made her return to LA. “The split from Christian and Karl’s death have floored her.”
“She was advised to stay in on Tuesday but she was keen to go out and show she was fine. The reality is not so clear cut.”
Gaga is set to attend and perform at the 91st Academy Awards, taking place this Sunday, February 24. She’s also a multiple nominee for her performance in A Star is Born.
“Certain members of her team are hoping she doesn’t go totally off the rails before the big night,” the source continued.
Gaga, who has been open about her past struggles with alcohol and drugs, hinted that she was back to drinking on a 2019 Valentine’s Day Instagram post.
“Musical crisis averted,” she wrote about her tattoo blunder. “Too many tequilas forgot the fifth staff line poor thing. Here’s the real deal.”
Gaga and Christian officially ended their engagement on Tuesday, February 19. They were together for two years prior to splitting up.
