Lauren Bushnell is finally opening up about her split from Bachelor star Ben Higgins. While the two became engaged on the show’s 20th season and even returned to the small screen for their own reality show just months after wrapping The Bachelor, Lauren revealed to People that the two just couldn’t make it work.
The lifestyle blogger told the mag that “of course” she and Ben still had a physical connection before their split, “it was more so the emotional connection that fizzled,” which caused them to go their separate ways.
Lauren and Ben’s disconnect was especially apparent on their Freeform reality show, Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After?, which they filmed just six months after wrapping The Bachelor.
“I remember during filming Happily Ever After, I was so stressed out, we couldn’t even communicate with one another when we were filming Happily Ever After,” she explained. “We were just stressed and tired physically,” Lauren admitted, before adding, “Emotionally, I just felt like it wasn’t there anymore.”

Lauren and Ben released a joint statement, last month, to announce their split.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce our decision to go our separate ways,” it read. “We feel fortunate for the time we had together, and will remain friends with much love and respect for one another. We wish nothing but the best for each other, and ask for your support and understanding at this time.”
