Even though he plays a detective who fights crime on the streets of New York City, Law & Order: SVU’s Ice-T has revealed that he has yet to try a huge staple of the city’s culture — bagels! Read on for all the details on his shocking update.
It all started when a fan innocently asked which bagel was his favorite via Twitter. The actor wrote back, “Lol. I’ve never eaten a Bagel in my life…”
His followers quickly flooded his page with messages of disbelief. One person asked, “You've been playing an NYPD cop for 18yrs and never had a bagel?”
Another person tried their best to catch him in a lie, “You had a cinnamon raisin one on SVU.” However, Ice-T wasn’t shaken, and he slyly pointed out, “TV is make believe.”

The former rapper then tried his best to regain control of the situation. He tweeted, “White people.. Don’t lose your Fn minds because I’ve never eaten a Bagle sic.. Take it easy.... Lol.”
This isn’t the first time the California native has had to remind people that art doesn’t necessarily mirror life. Last month, when he was arrested for toll evasion, he had to remind his followers that playing a cop on television doesn’t get him any special treatment.
