Away From Fame! Lorde Splashes Around The Beach In Bikini & Caught Up With Old Pals In New Zealand

Lorde has been a busy girl performing and attending events, so the New Zealand native took some time off of fame for some R&R in her home country—and caught up with old pals!

The 29-year-old spent a day at Ngarunui Beach with a longtime friend named Tim and splashed in the waves in a blue bikini.

Lorde, whose real name is Ella, even shared her love for her pal on Instagram, revealing her buddy is not exactly starstruck with her life.

“Watching tim surf today from the backseat of the car,” she wrote. “Tim has been my friend since we were 13; he's a nature wizard and a deep thinker, and he doesn't talk a lot but pretty much everything he says is a poem. he also thinks most things i do are deeply uncool and for that i'll probably love him forever.”

The singer also seemed to catch up with other pals in her hometown, including “a lovely boy called kingsley forde who i sat next to in biology class a million years ago.”

Lorde was sporting a cast on her arm at the Met Gala earlier in the month but her injury appeared better since she had removed it during her getaway.
