Is Riverdale getting a new star? Rumors have been running rampant that Lucy Hale is joining the hit CW show, so the former Pretty Little Liars actress finally took to Twitter to set the record straight.
“Also, there’s a rumor I’m joining Riverdale. Not true. Love the show, but not true,” Lucy wrote.
Lucy currently stars on another CW show, Life Sentence, which was not renewed for a second season. Amid news that the show was cancelled, fans were hoping Lucy could join Riverdale instead.
Lucy recently released a statement addressing Life Sentence’s cancellation, thanking fans for their support.

“Things don’t always work out in our favor and it’s up to us what we do with it,” Lucy wrote. “It’s been a helluva last year for me and I want to give a huge thank you to the support I’ve been shown!”
Riverdale currently stars KJ Apa, Camila Mendes, Lili Reinhart, and Cole Sprouse. After months of rumors, the latter two finally confirmed their relationship at the Met Gala last week.
