After his world was turned upside down with a bitter divorce battle, Brad Pitt finally got to see his children in early October. But the meeting was bittersweet for the actor, whose son Maddox would not attend.

Us Weekly reported that the 15-year-old and eldest of the Jolie-Pitt brood refused to attend the visit, which was monitored by a therapist due to court orders, and instead remained with Angelina Jolie.

“He chose not to go and stayed with Angie,” the source told US Weekly. “Maddox never wants to see Brad again.”

The insider added that “Maddox is very close with Angie” and “doesn’t really see himself as Brad’s son” since Jolie adopted him from Cambodia in 2002.

According to reports, Jolie chose to divorce Pitt because of an altercation with Maddox on Sept. 14, where Brad reportedly got violent on his son. However, Pitt has denied abuse allegations.

Angelina and Brad have since been battling for custody of the children since separating on Sept. 19, though the A-listers came to a temporary agreement with the Department of Children and Family Services where Brad can visit with a court-ordered therapist.
