Nicki Minaj had a big night at the VMAs on Monday, so much so that she celebrated it by getting into a major lip-lock with the one and only Madonna.
The road leading up to Nicki’s VMA appearance was paved with tons of drama. After tweets slamming Travis Scott, Kylie Jenner and even little Stormi, fans speculated on what would happen when they all met face to face at the awards ceremony.
However, even with a shady comment from Nicki during her Best Hip Hop Video acceptance speech, and her performance at the Oculus (far away Travis and from Radio City Music Hall, where the main show took place), the show went on without a hitch.
In a video posted to her Instagram Story, the Trinidad-born rapper showed fans that she was enjoying herself even behind the scenes. “I want to say happy belated birthday to the Queen of all Queens, Miss Madonna” she said.

The 60-year-old in question stood next to Nicki, gratuitously accepting her praise. “Kisses and hugs!” she exclaimed, which is when Madonna made her move.
In a scene that was reminiscent of her most iconic VMA moment, the Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera kiss, Madonna moved in and planted a fat smooch on Nicki’s mouth.
The 35-year-old looked visibly surprised and even let out a little fangirl scream before quickly ending the video.
