Celebrity Manicurist Candice Idehen has painted the hands of major stars like Jessica Alba, Estelle, and Mary Louise Parker and she recently opened the super-chic nail bar, BED of Nails, in NYC. We turned to the polish powerhouse to see just which trends we should try this holiday season. Flip through her top picks!
A moon manicure is a really popular way to accentuate a great nail shape and jazz up your nails for the holidays.
Black and Gold Outline Nails
Outline black nails in a glitzy gold.
Polka Dot Nails
Polka dots are always whimsical and easier to do than they look!
Incorporate this season's “it colors” with nail art and gel. I added peacock feather designs with Swarovski crystals to the thumbs of these navy blue nails. You can also accent one nail if you choose, instead of them all.
A fun tribal look with Swarovski crystals.
Navys are also an excellent choice. My favorite polish shades are the 'Bel Argus' by and 'Blue Satin' by Chanel!
Blue Nail Polishes
Other brands that get an A+ from me are: Butter London, Marc Jacobs, YSL and INGLOT.
Blue ombre nails.
'Harlem Silks From Bombay' and the 'Red Silk Boxers' are perfect by Deborah Lippmann. Very berry in color tone, which is in for this season.
Deborah Lippmann 'Dark Side of the Moon'
Stacy Keibler in 'Dark Side of the Moon' from Deborah Lippmann. An excellent choice for the holidays—it's deep, but still reflects color.
Foil effects are also very in right now.
As are matte accents.
Sliver Gliter Nails
For the glitter lovers, you can opt for the same color base (silver) and apply a glitter (silver) in similar color for the tips. You can also do this with gold. It's more of a classy approach to glitter.
Pink Nail Art
Try something different with nail art and have fun with negative space. Subtle, yet chic.
Ciate has a very cool new velvet manicure kit. It gives you dimension and texture with a smooth finish.
