When you've got a list of chart-topping hits as long as Mariah Carey's and it's time to record a new song, you're not going to have anyone telling you when you can and can't start laying down tracks in the studio.
In fact, the delicious diva didn't even begin recording until well after midnight — and she's proud of the fact!
Around 1:15 am ET last night, Mimi <a href="https://twitter.com/MariahCarey" target="_blank">Tweeted the following</a>:
"In the studio.. driving the engineer crazy cos I'm a control freak and once again we're STARTING at 1:16 am..perfectly normal: )"
Two hours later, she wrote she was "still in the studio. Hopefully I'll finish this one tonite. It has a lot of bv's backing vocals and I'm doing them but you know I like that mess."
Finally, around 4:15 in the morning, Mariah "took a little break" to play with her dogs in the kitchen. No word yet on whether or not she ever went back to recording. But we're sure she needs her beauty sleep.
