Married At First Sight stars Kate Sisk and Luke Cuccurullo aren’t experiencing newlywed bliss. During this week’s episode, the couple shared their first post-wedding kiss and it wasn’t what either of them expected.
In the clip, Kate explained Luke was actually the one who initiated the smooch. “I think that Luke is a pleaser and he knows that I’m attracted to him, and I like him … so he kissed me last night just to try it,” she said.
However, things quickly took a turn for the worst. “He had to stop because he said it made him feel repulsed and dead inside,” the 28-year-old continued. “It made me feel terrible, and I don’t know what to do.”
Luke then explained to the viewers that in order to kiss his new wife, he had to completely “turn off” his emotions.

“It felt really disjointed somehow, and it definitely was a situation that was uncomfortable,” he shared.
The 30-year-old civil engineer then acknowledged the inherent risk of their marriage. "If you’re marrying a stranger, there’s 100 percent a chance that you guys don’t mesh, that you guys aren’t attracted to each other,” he said. “But it’s definitely a risk that I took and it feels absolutely terrible that this relationship won’t work out.”
At the end of the clip, the newlyweds were shown leaving their Costa Rica hotel and heading back to the States after the honeymoon.
