Even in the darkest of times, it’s good for your friends to have your back. Naya Rivera, who was just charged and arrested for allegedly attacking husband Ryan Dorsey, has a major supporter in her former Glee star Matthew Morrison, who spoke very positively about her amid all the drama going on her life. Click-through for the details.
Naya and Matthew costarred on the hit FOX program for six seasons, from 2009 to 2015, before the show went off the air.
During her time on the show, she got engaged to rapper Big Sean but they called it off back in 2014. After she ended things with him, she started dating her now husband Ryan, who she shares a two year old son named Josey with.
The couple have had their issues prior to her most recent arrest. She filed for divorce from Ryan back in 2016, but called it off this past October. Then, she was arrested two days after Thanksgiving this year for the alleged altercation, where Ryan claims that she struck him in the head and bottom lip while they were walking their son.

The audio from the 911 call shows Ryan telling the police "My wife’s out of control,” and "She’s getting physical,” prior to them showing up to their home in West Virginia. He also provided cell phone video of the incident to law enforcement, according to local news reports. She was released on $1,000 bond and it was claimed on Twitter that her father-in-law picked her up at the courthouse.
Amid all the chaos, Matthew stands in support of Naya, telling PEOPLE Magazine exclusively "She’s a great mom,” in response to being questioned about her misdemeanor domestic battery charge. He was attending the Sherpapa X CampGOOP when asked.
Matthew revealed in an episode of Watch What Happens Live! back in 2015 that he is not in touch with Naya, saying "“No I’m not. But I love her.” He’s proof that you can still stand up for your friend or colleague, regardless of how close or not they are.
