As if she didn’t have enough drama to contend with as jilted wife Helen Solloway on the hit Showtime series The Affair, Maura got rear-ended by a car while riding her bike in Los Angeles Monday morning.
The terrible bump instantly knocked her off her bike and onto the ground.
It was so bad that she was still lying on the sidewalk when the paramedics finally arrived. She had to be placed in a neck brace and put on a stretcher before she was driven to the hospital.
Though the accident gave the 53-year-old a horrible scare, the LAPD informed People that they did not believe the driver of the car was under the influence.
A rep for the actress reported her current condition to the publication, “Maura has been released from the hospital with no major injuries.”
