Though Meghan Markle may now be known as the Duchess of Sussex, there was a time when the Royal was sharing tips on fashion, travel and food through her lifestyle blog The Tig. She recently found herself falling back on her old pastimes with a new collaborative project tied to a great cause. Read on for the latest.

The past few months have been quite eventful for Meghan. She not only married Prince Harry in a grand ceremony and simultaneously became a Duchess, but she’s also thrown herself head first into a project that’s close to her heart.

Struck by the devastation of the Grenfell Tower Fire in West London last year, which killed 72 people and injured 70 more, Meghan was determined to find a way for her to help out in any way she could. That meant teaming up with women affected by the disaster at the Al Manaar Muslim Cultural Heritage Centre in West London to get to know, cook with, and form a community in times of despair.

Their candid conversations and activities turned into writing a cookbook, of which Meghan announced her support on Monday. Titled Together: Our Community Cookbook, it features 50 recipes from the women affected by the event.

Meghan was so inspired by her experience that she wrote the forward for the book. “I immediately felt connected to this community kitchen; it is a place for women to laugh, grieve, cry and cook together,” she expressed.

She added, "Together is more than a cookbook. This is a tale of friendship, and a story of togetherness. It is a homage to the power of cooking as a community, and the recipes that allow us to connect, share and look forward.”
