Meghan Markle Launches Clothing Line On Her First Day Back From Maternity Leave

Meghan Markle made her first official work appearance since giving birth to baby Archie in early May! On Thursday, September 12, the Duchess was spotted at the Lewis department store on London's Oxford Street to launch her clothing line with Smart Works.
Although ending her maternity leave means spending less time with her four-month-old son, Meghan, 38, seemed excited and happy to be at her launch event.
As OK! readers know, the new mother and her husband Prince Harry welcomed Archie on May 6 at 5:26am. They officially introduced him to the world at Windsor Castle on May 8th.
Meghan looked professional but trendy at her first event back on the job! She wore a collared white button down shirt that she tucked into a pair of high-waisted black pants.
She accessorized with a pair of brown pointed heels and a matching belt while she kept her dark brown locks down in loose beach waves.
Meghan's Smart Set capsule collection that was created with Smart Works charity aims to provide unemployed women with free clothes and job interview training.

The new line includes a white shirt from Misha Nonoo, a blazer and slacks from Jigsaw, a John Lewis & Partners tote bag and a Marks & Spencer dress. Every item sold online or in store will be donated to the organization.
During the launch event, Meghan opened up about why this clothing line is important to her. "A big piece of this is trying to transform the idea of charity to community," Meghan said during her speech.
"And the way that we do that I think as people, is we go into our closet as a woman as you say, I'm gonna make a donation. You don't go through your closet and just toss in a box whatever you don't care about anymore. That's charity, as we know it today,” she said.
"Community is going through your closet and saying, this is the blazer that I wore when I nailed my first job interview and got my dream job. And I don't need that anymore, because I am where I want to be," the Duchess added. "But if I'm able to share that blazer and be part of another woman's success story, then that's community."
