Michael Strahan leaves 'Good Morning America' in NYC's Times Square

Michael Strahan may have had to wake up early for NFL practice for over a decade, but he probably didn't expect to have to do the same after he retired! The former athlete made a surprising (but understandable) confession about his new gig with Good Morning America.

“You know what?” Michael, 44, told E! “I don’t know if you ever adjust to getting up, waking up so early — I don’t know if that’s possible, but I enjoy going in there!” The show airs Monday through Friday from 7am to 9am, so he likely has to wake up well before 5am!

And GMA isn't even Michael's only role. He also is a football analyst on Fox NFL Sunday. How he does it all, nobody knows!

And though he wants to fling his alarm clock across the room at times, it sounds like the morning show is a great fit for him. “I look forward to being there,” he said. “It’s fun because it’s new, it’s exciting and I’m learning so much, and I work with great people.”

It's very new, after he announced in April that he was leaving Live with Kelly & Michael, after nearly four years co-hosting. Everyone was shocked about his unexpected departure, including Kelly Ripa, who took time off from work to take in the news.
