Things may be tense behind-the-scenes, but Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan put on a united front for his last day on Live! With Kelly & Michael, though some uncomfortable jokes were cracked.

After walking out holding hands, Strahan blurted out: “We made it. We made it to today.”

"Don't take this as a bad sign, it's Friday the 13th,” Kelly joked. "We want to remind the audience that there's a run on discounted merchandise at the gift shop." Strahan chimed in: "They're collectors' items now.”

Sources said that the days leading up to his departure have been “unbearable” as Kelly lashed out at her now ex-co-star, who surprised her when he announced he was leaving for Good Morning America.

"It's bittersweet," Strahan said on his final day. "I didn't anticipate being here at this moment but it's here and we're gonna enjoy it. I'm not dying. I’m still in the family! !”

Strahan insisted he didn’t want “like a big to-do” about leaving, through Live! aired some funny footage of his time hosting the show.

So far, the permanent replacement for Strahan has not been announced, but the show will continue after his exit with Jimmy Kimmel as the first guest host.
