A Total Diss? Michael Strahan Confesses He's 'Excited' About His New 'Good Morning America' Gig Amid Kelly Ripa Drama!

It didn't take much time for Michael Strahan to look quite cozy on the set of his new gig, Good Morning America! After announcing his exit from Live! With Kelly And Michael on Tuesday, the former NFL star of course tried to cover up the drama by gushing about his soon-to-be former co-host, Kelly Ripa.

Before Kelly was absent from their show for the second day in a row, Michael tried to cover-up the drama occurring with her after leaving her blindsided with his unexpected exit.

"I’m going to miss everybody at ‘Live,’ sitting next to Kelly every day. I’ve been having a lot of fun on that show over the last four years and I’m very thankful to her because I’ve learned so much from her and Michael Gelman," he said. "I was so new to all of this that if it weren’t for her and for Michael Gelman and the staff there … they really boosted me up to make me look a lot better than I really am.”

Of course, Michael defended his new opportunity despite Kelly thinking this is the "ultimate betrayal,” according to Page Six.

"We’re on the same network,” he said. “I’ll be up earlier now, but we’re on the same team, same family," Michael said on-air.

During his appearance, Michael admitted to being ready to "embrace" his new gig and is "excited" to be on the show.
