Mick Jagger Attends YAGP Ballet Gala, Making First Public Appearance Since Heart Surgery
Mick Jagger is on the mend! The legendary rocker attended the Youth America Grand Prix ballet gala on April 19 in New York City just weeks after undergoing heart surgery.
Prior to his surgery, Mick orchestrated a ballet set to Rolling Stones music, which was to be featured at the 20th anniversary soiree. However, the 75-year-old fell ill, and was forced to postpone his tour to focus on his health. While it was unclear immediately following his stent placement if he would recover in time to see his ballet hit the stage, the icon was feeling well enough to attend the event and congratulate the dancers on their special night.
An insider told OK! at the annual benefit that Jagger stood backstage during the performance of the piece that he'd orchestrated, keeping a low profile while showing support for the young dancers as well as his girlfriend, 32-year-old ballerina Melanie Hamrick.
Mick Jagger was not the only celeb who stepped out in support of the arts. Scroll through for photos from the star-studded affair.
