Jersey Shore star Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino received some good news on Tuesday, as he won't have to surrender to the Bureau of Prisons until the new year to start his 8-month prison sentence. Read on for all the details.
Documents obtained by Radar Online show that the 36-year-old won’t have to surrender until January 15th, 2019.
He was sentenced on October 5th to 8 months in prison and 2 years supervised probation for evading taxes from 2014 and 2017.
The maximum sentence was five years behind bars, however his lawyer was still "disappointed" at the outcome. "We hoped for probation. But the judge gave her reasons. It's a sad day. Mike Sorrentino righted his life. That progress has been interrupted. But this doesn't set him back."

It's good news in the love department for Mike and his fiancée Lauren Pesce, as they are getting married next month. His proposal to her went down on the most recent Jersey Shore season called Family Vacation.
