Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino Celebrates Major Milestone In Honor Of His Sobriety
Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino has some exciting news! On Thursday, December 5, the Jersey Shore star, 37, announced that he is four years sober!
In a photo uploaded to Instagram, Mike dazzled in a crisp grey suit. He also wore a black tie, which complimented his shoes. “Celebrating 4 Years Clean & Sober,” he wrote as his Instagram caption.
Following his upload, fans celebrated Mike’s victory. “Congratulations! You should be proud of all you've accomplished and how your story will change someone's life for the better. Look at you go! You are amazing!” one fan noted. Another added, “The comeback is always better than the setback.” A third wrote, “This is the best you've EVER LOOKED!! Good job.” Mike’s former costar, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzo, who recently announced that she is retiring from the MTV show, celebrated her friend’s accomplishment. “So proud of you brother,” the 32-year-old wrote.

Although his sobriety anniversary isn’t until December 24, Mike pointed out that he will celebrate all month. “The comeback is truly greater than the setback,” he explained. “I am showing my friends, family and fans by example that your current situation is not your final destination and to never give up on yourself.”
In honor of the holiday season, Mike and his wife, Lauren, created a holiday treatment scholarship with the help of Banyan Treatment Centers. The couple announced that they will pay for one lucky person’s 30-day drug and alcohol treatment program in Pompano Beach, Florida.
As OK! readers know, Mike has been clean since 2015 after battling an addiction to prescription medications including Xanax and oxycodone. Back in March 2012, Mike checked into a rehab facility, but relapsed a few months later. Mike’s exciting news arrived less than two months after he served an 8-month sentence in the Federal Correctional Institution in Otisville, New York following his guilty plea to tax evasion.
