Miley, 26, was following Liam, 29, when she was groped by a male "fan" in a crowd of supporters while leaving The Mandarin Hotel.
In a fan captured video posted on Twitter, viewers can see the man touching her hair before he tries to take a shot and kiss the A-lister.
Miley quickly pushes the man away and keeps walking with Liam, who looks back briefly and then puts a protective arm around her.

The couple, who got married in December 2018, has yet to publicly comment on the situation.
Miley was in Spain to perform at the Primavera Sound Festival. As fans know, the star dropped an EP called She Is Coming on Friday, May 31.
The EP is the first of three six-song EPs, followed by She Is Here and She Is Everything, which she will release later this year and eventually form Miley's seventh studio album She Is Miley Cyrus.
