Liam Hemsworth broke his silence on his split with Miley Cyrus for the first time. Just days after the news broke about the separation, the Hunger Games star is addressing the split with the singer for the first time.

"Hi all. Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward," Liam, 29, wrote on Instagram.
Adding, "This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false. Peace and Love."
On Saturday, August 10th, the former couple announced that they were separating after 8 months of marriage.
“Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time,” a rep for the singer told E! News in a statement. "Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what's best while they both focus on themselves and careers," the rep added. "They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy."
Liam and Miley first met on the set of their 2009 film The Last Song. They made their rep carpet debut the following year. They secretly got hitched nearly a decade later on December 23, 2018, at her home in Nashville.
Miley and Liam first got engaged in 2012, but called off the wedding and split in 2013. They rekindled their romance back in 2015.
Since the shocking news was announced, Liam has been spending time with his family.
Just days after the announcement, Liam was pictured surfing in Australia.
The Hunger Games actor looked somber while catching some waves.
