'Modern Family' Is Ending In 2020 After 11 Seasons On Air

ABC's hit comedy series Modern Family is set to end its 11-season run next year. The family sitcom was renewed for a final season and will air its last episodes in the 2019-2020 fall schedule.
ABC network president Karey Burke made the announcement at the 2019 Television Critics Association press tour.
She said, "So proud to announce that Modern Family is returning for its 11th and final season."
Karey then thanked the show's creators, Steven Levitan and Christopher Lloyd. "Chris and Steve have created one of the most seminal and iconic comedies in television history. In its final season, there will be more milestone events that anyone who has been a fan of the series won't want to miss,” she said.

The much-beloved mockumentary series has won 22 Emmys since its release in 2009.
Modern Family launched young stars like Sarah Hyland, Ariel Winter, Nolan Gould and Rico Rodriguez into instant fame. Sofia Vergara, Ed O'Neill, Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet round out the ensemble star-studded cast.
