A judge ruled that Nick Gordon is “legally responsible” for the wrongful death of late girlfriend Bobbi Kristina Brown, one year after the civil suit was filed, and must pay.
Bobbi Kristina Brown Dies At 22
The 26-year-old did not show up in court Sept. 16 for the hearing in the lawsuit filed by her estate that accused Gordon of assaulting, intentionally inflicting emotional distress and taking money from Brown’s account.

“In court today, we finally finished a long journey for justice for Bobbi Kristina Brown,” lawyer for Brown’s conservator, R. David Ware, said outside of court. “The court agrees with us, by striking Mr. Gordon’s answer that he is legally responsible for her death."

Brown’s aunt Leolah said in a statement that she wants “justice” and for Gordon to be behind bars. “It’s been a long time,” she said. “He should have been arrested. I am angry. I’m angry because I want to see some justice. Something has to happen and it has to happen soon.”

A jury trial will be held to determine how much Gordon will pay in damages. Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown's late daughter died on July 26, 2015 after spending months in a coma.
