When asked, "How happy are you that you didn't have a baby with Jessica?" Nick, who is expecting his second child with wife Vanessa Lachey, said, "In our situation, that was probably the best thing that could have ever happened that we didn't have kids."

Jessica and Nick married in 2002 and divorced in 2005.
"After three years of marriage, and careful thought and consideration, we have decided to part ways," the couple said in a joint statement at the time. "This is the mutual decision of two people with an enormous amount of respect and admiration for each other. We hope that you respect our privacy during this difficult time."

Nick added, "And look, you're always going to love your kids no matter how you feel about their other parent, but all things being equal, it was the best thing probably for both of us that we went on with our lives."
