Nicki Minaj Reveals The Truth About Her Shade Towards Jennifer Lopez At The AMAs!

Jennifer Lopez stole the show as she opened the American Music Awards on Sunday night with a dance medley. Unfortunately, not everyone was as enthusiastic about her routine—namely Nicki Minaj!

The 46-year-old energetically danced to a snippet of the hits from this year’s top artists, including Justin Bieber and even Taylor Swift.

But when Nicki’s song "Anaconda" started to play (sans her rap verses), Nicki looked a bit peeved, and seemed to make eye contact with Meek Mill before turning her attention back to the stage.

A number of fans immediately went to social media to comment about the rapper’s shade.

It was so bad that Nicki had to defend herself, saying on Twitter, “lol says what all? I’m looking at my own face on the screen when I’m looking to the right. I turn Bak & look @ her.”

But we’re not sure, Nicki! This definitely is not the first time the curvy beauty has raised eyebrows during an awards show.

Last year, during the BET Awards, as rumors swirled that fellow rapper Iggy Azalea didn’t write her own lyrics, Nicki said on stage, “What I want the world to know about Nicki Minaj is, that when you hear Nicki Minaj spot, Nicki Minaj wrote it.” As the crowd reacted, she followed that with, “No, no, no shade.” However, that sounded pretty shaded to us!
