Now we're just confused. Just a day after what looked like an awkward meeting at California Pizza Kitchen, Joel Madden and Nicole Richie were seen out and about together, and both wore their wedding rings!
Joel even put his left hand on Nicole's back at one point to guide her and their cute dog as they met up at Modernism Nest Furnishings to purchase new furniture.
The two drove separately, but considering Nicole is once again wearing her ring, maybe they're not splitting up after all.
A day earlier, they met with an unidentified woman for 40 minutes, and then walked separately to their cars. Joel initially went to Nicole's vehicle, leaning through her window to say goodbye. They spoke for a minute before exchanging a frosty goodbye handshake.

And while they may be putting on a united front for now, friends close to the couple "do not think that their marriage is going to survive," a source previously told RadarOnline.
"If it wasn't for the kids, they'd be divorced already," the insider said about the couple.
