Niecey Nash and her husband Jay Tucker are calling it quits. On Wednesday, October 30, the Claws actress revealed that after 8 years of marriage, the two are getting a divorce.
Niecey, 49, shared the joint statement on her Instagram account. “We believe in the beauty of truth. Always have. Our truth is that in this season of our lives, we are better friends than partners in marriage,” the former couple wrote. “Our union was such a gorgeous ride. And as we go our separate ways now, we feel fortunate for the love we share — present tense."
They ended the message by thanking their fans and loved ones for previously supporting their marriage. “Thank you all out there for your support of us as a couple over the last eight years,” they said. “We are grateful. Niecy Nash + Jay Tucker,” the pair concluded.
Jay and the Reno 911! alum got engaged in 2010. “I have to say, this second time around, it feels custom,” Niecy said at the time. “Even after I got my divorce, the ink wasn’t even dry on the paper, and I said, ‘Ooh, the next time I become a wife, I got this thing down pat!’ I always believed that there was someone built for me.” The pair exchanged vows at the Church Estate Vineyard in Malibu in May of 2010.

According to Page Six, their relationship was strained due to Niecey's Claws filming schedule, which kept them apart for extended periods of time. A source also claimed that Jay was growing increasingly uncomfortable with the graphic sex scenes, Niecey participated in for the show.
“Niecy got a brand new body right before she went to film Claws down in New Orleans and that’s when their troubles began,” the insider claimed. “Jay was really uncomfortable with her graphic sex scenes on the show and that made their problems worse. They were living in two different cities and Jay expressed he didn’t like his wife being in New Orleans while he was in Los Angeles."
Niecy was previously married to Don Nash. The pair split in 2007 and they share three children.
