OK! Interview: The Kardashian Sisters
March 7 2008, Published 1:18 p.m. ET
It's hard to keep up with the Kardashians these days now that they're bonafide reality stars thanks to their E! series Keeping Up With the Kardashians (the new season premieres Sunday, March 9), but OK! was able to catch up with sisters Kim, 27, Kourtney, 28, and Khloe, 23, for an exclusive glamorous photo shoot and interview, where the trio dished about their newfound fame, love lives (or lack thereof) and having style for miles.
KIM
How are you dealing with the constant presence of cameras for your reality show?
It’s kind of crazy, but it’s fun and you totally forget that they’re there. We kind of know what we’re getting ourselves into. But at first we used to be kind of careful about what we said and we would try to keep everything censored. My sisters kind of get crazy, and we tried so hard not to be ourselves for the first few weeks. Then all of a sudden we just got relaxed.
What has changed for you since the show’s debut?
It’s changed a lot. It’s so cool to see different people respond to different episodes and different episodes. I think that me and my sisters never would have gotten really great opportunities that come up because we have a show on the air. And I think that we’re all just embracing all of it. We’re all having a great time.
Do you have plans to act?
Definitely. It’s something that I’m not comfortable with, so I promised myself that this year I would do things that are kind of outside of my comfort zone. I always say my first acting experience was being in a Fall Out Boy video. I was Pete Wentz’s love interest in the "Thanks for the Memories" video. That was so nerve-wracking for me. I know Pete really well, but I had to kiss him and it was just so nerve-wracking! It was amazing, though. It made me feel really comfortable.
You’ve been coy about discussing your boyfriend, Reggie Bush, but you’ve been stepping out together more lately…
He hates the terms “stepping out” and that we’ve “become public” to the world, because we’ve been together for a while. It’s just his lifestyle. He lives in New Orleans half the year, then he came back to California. When the team finished we “stepped out." We’ve been together for a long time and he always says he hates that term, like we’ve made the choice to go public. He’ll always say, “No, you’ve just made the choice to follow us, because we’ve been here.”
Any fashion regrets?
I recently wore a turquoise leopard one-piece bikini. I tend to be too trendy laughs.
Your celebrity style heroine?
I love Jennifer Lopez's style. She is glamorous, but really funky at the same time.
KHLOE
Kim shared that she worried about your outspoken nature, going into filming the reality show…
People see as somebody who doesn’t really think before I speak, basically, or I don’t really care what comes out. But I don’t say it any harmful way. This is how I am. Why would I change myself for a TV show — to care about people I’ll never see in my life?
Have there been times when you’ve not enjoyed the attention?
The only negative thing is that people just talk about you a lot more. It doesn’t affect me, but I know it affects other members of my family. I’m very protective of my family, so I feel bad for them because they care so much.
What are you hoping your reality show success will lead to?
I want to design. My sisters and I are starting designing clothes and stuff. But other than that, I really want to host. Everything to do with fashion, but still be in front of camera and hosting red carpets, and just doing stuff like that.

Are you single at the moment?
Yes. You’ll see in some of the upcoming episodes that they’re pressuring me to date. But I am young, I’m having so much fun right now and I’m very business oriented right now.
What piece of clothing do you wear to death?
My black leather jacket. It's the kind of jacket you can put on with anything and it looks good.
Your favorite place to shop?
We love going to boutique stores in New York. I love Intermix.
KOURTNEY
You’re launching your own fashion line, aren’t you?
Yes. We’re actually taking our first meeting about it today. And I think that when I woke up this morning and thought about our meeting, I just thought it was great. We buy everything for our store. We’re the buyers. But we go and we see all the lines out there and I just can’t wait to do something exciting.
Who would you say is the most sensible of all three of you?
Me! On different topics we switch, but I think Khloe and I, depending on what we’re talking about. But I probably have the most similar qualities to my dad, and he was very practical and sensible. And I think my brother Robert is a lot like me too.
Who would you say is the bossiest?
Probably me too! Because I’m like the oldest, and I feel like everything I know is right, so I should tell everyone what to do. But I never usually say, “I’m the oldest,” but I think they just listen to me anyway. They know that I’m the wisest!
How are things between you and your boyfriend, Scott Disick?
Everything’s great with us.
Are people asking you about wedding bells yet?
My friend was just asking me today when we were talking about visiting. But I’m so not even thinking about that. I’m definitely not in a rush. I don’t ever think there’s a need to rush into that. We’re perfectly happy how it is right now.
Describe your own style.
I love mixing things, just stuff that I have in my closet. When you put things together, I think it always looks more stylish.
