Padma Lakshmi is embracing a moment of solace. On November 21, the Top Chef host shared a photo of herself relaxing in a bath. Padma, 49, has reportedly been working on her Hulu series, Taste The Nation, which she created. She also will write and executive produce the show — making her a triple threat! This “me time” appears to be a break from time on the road working on the new series, plus Top Chef.
“When you’ve been on the road for six months straight and you finally get a minute (1) to yourself” she captioned the sultry picture for her 605K Instagram followers. Padma lounged in the tub with her long hair slicked back and eyes closed. She was surrounded by rose petals.
Fans loved the relaxation she was experiencing, and couldn’t get over the gorgeous bathroom. “Now THIS is self-care,” one user wrote. “That’s a great tub,” another said. “That looks like heaven,” a third fan chimed in.
Food & Wine reported that Top Chef has been filming in Los Angeles on November 16, which could be part of the TV personality’s traveling. On November 19, Padma revealed the new title of her Hulu show, which will show “what the country really looks like and how we eat.”

"It was my idea, I created the show, I’m executive producing it, I’m writing it," Padma explained of the program. "But this show isn’t about me: It’s about using other people’s stories to prove my point about American culture and American food. It’s using food as a vehicle to talk about larger topics that are difficult to talk about in our society, but I think are worthwhile." She also plans on continuing to work on Top Chef.
"The first thing that keeps me there is to understand how lucky I am to have a long-running show, and that to step away from that would be difficult for me, because it’s not just me Tom Colicchio and Gail Simmons, but 150 people behind the scenes that really work very hard," she said. "It’s something that I take great proprietorship in."
Padma has been hosting Top Chef since season two in 2006, and finished hosting the 16th season this past March.
