After a long absence from social media and Saturday Night Live, Pete Davidson took to Instagram to let fans know he’s back and healthier than ever.
“Just wanted to let you guys know I’m okay. I know I’ve kinda been missing, on social media and on the show. I quit drugs and am happy and sober for the first time in 8 years,” the 23-year-old comedian revealed.
After his father was killed in the terror attacks of September 11, 2001, Pete struggled with drugs and suicidal thoughts, which he has openly admitted. In 2014, he joined the cast of Saturday Night Live. Just 21 at the time, he was the youngest cast member in the show’s 40-year history.

He continued his post: “It wasn’t easy, but I got a great girl, great friends and I consider myself a lucky man. I’ll always be here for you guys, I promise.”
Pete is currently dating Cazzie David, daughter of famed comedian and Seinfeld creator Larry David. In 2016, Pete told People magazine, “I just love her very, very much.” He posted a photo of him and his girl as well, captioning it, “Luckiest guy in the world.”
“Remember to never give up hope because sometimes that’s all we got. We are a family and I appreciate all your love and support. It’s nice to be back in action,” he finished the post.
