Sarah Jessica Parker can add one more name to her extensive resume. She's an actress, fashion designer, occasional singer and now, a book publisher! The blonde beauty launched her very own literary imprint called SJP for Hogarth in conjunction with Crown Publishing Group earlier this year.
Twenty-seven-year-old, Fatima Farheen Mirza is the first author to be published by Sarah's company. A Place For Us is her debut novel that was released in June.
Sarah, her husband Matthew Broderick and Fatima attended the Book Hampton Event yesterday evening to promote and talk about the groundbreaking book.
Sarah said that "she was taken hostage by Fatima Mirza’s heartrending and timely story." The Sex and the City actress said the book was a “gutting pleasure." She also praised Fatima’s ability to give her readers a good taste of “what it means to reconcile one’s love of family and culture with a desire to find one’s own path and one’s own faith."

The novel tells the tale of an estranged Indian family who must come together for the oldest daughter's wedding in California during the turn of the 21st century. Secrets are revealed and family bonds are either strengthened or broken apart. Fatima drew on her own life experiences to write the story.
The California native and the Failure to Launch star have become good friends over the last few months of working and putting the paperback together. Sarah is very supportive of her author and is ecstatic for the world to see the literary masterpiece.
